Hello everyone!
Welcome back to Cosette’s Beauty Pantry for another Free Spirit Friday! This week feels extra special because tomorrow, 8th March, is International Women’s Day—a day to celebrate the strength, creativity, and uniqueness of women everywhere. As a vegan and a bit of a lone wanderer, I’m excited to share how I’ll be marking this day with intention, joy, and a whole lot of self-love. Whether you’re a free spirit like me or just popping by for some inspiration, this post is for you. Let’s explore how we can make tomorrow a beautiful celebration—solo style!
International Women’s Day is a global shout-out to women’s achievements, resilience, and the quiet power we all carry. For me, it’s a chance to reflect on my own journey and honour the women who’ve shaped the world I live in. No grand parties or group plans here—just a day filled with vegan goodness and personal meaning. Here’s how I’ll be celebrating, and I’d love for you to join me in your own way!

1. Start with Gratitude
I’ll begin my 8th March with a steaming mug of herbal tea—probably a zingy peppermint or chamomile, my current faves—and a moment to think about the women who inspire me. My mum's at the top of the list, with her unwavering strength and sense of humour that’s carried me through more than she knows. Then there are the icons I’ve read about—think Virginia Woolf or Elsa von Freytag-Loringhoven—who remind me what’s possible when you follow your own path.
Why not try this too? Grab a notebook or your phone and list a few women who’ve left a mark on you—family, historical figures, or even someone you’ve seen online. It’s a simple way to kick off the day with a grateful heart, and it feels like a little nod to the sisterhood we’re all part of, even if we’re celebrating solo.
2. Treat Yourself
You know I’m all about beauty with a conscience here at Cosette’s Beauty Pantry, so tomorrow’s the perfect day for some self-care. I’ll be mixing up a DIY face mask—think mashed avocado and a splash of oat milk for that creamy, soothing vibe. It’s 100% plant-based, kind to my skin, and makes me feel like I’m glowing from the inside out.
If DIY isn’t your thing, treat yourself to something small but special—a vegan lip balm in a punchy shade, a cruelty-free candle, or a frothy oat milk latte from a local café. It’s about celebrating you, no guilt attached. We often put ourselves last, but tomorrow, let’s make it about us. What’s your favourite indulgence?
3. Lift Up Another Woman
I might not have friends to text, but that won’t stop me from spreading some love. I’m planning to hop online and leave a kind comment on a blog or post by a woman who’s caught my eye—maybe a vegan recipe creator or an artist I admire. It’s a tiny gesture, but it’s my way of saying, “You’re brilliant, keep going.”
You could do the same—share a woman-owned business on social media or just smile at a stranger if you’re out and about. Celebrating solo doesn’t mean we can’t brighten someone else’s day—it’s all about that quiet ripple effect.
4. Learn Something New
This year’s theme is about inspiring inclusion, which has me itching to expand my own world a bit. I’ll spend some time tomorrow reading up on a woman I don’t know much about—maybe a forgotten figure from history. There’s so much out there to discover, and it’s a fab way to feel connected to something bigger, even from my cosy corner.
If books aren’t your speed, try a documentary (loads of great ones feature women changing the world) or a podcast. It’s like inviting inspiration into your day, and no company is required. What will you explore?
5. Get Creative
As a free spirit, I live for a bit of creativity, and International Women’s Day is the perfect excuse to let loose. I might sketch something in my journal—nothing fancy. Or I’ll curate a playlist of songs by female artists.
Get involved if you fancy it—whip up a vegan recipe (I’m craving a chocolate avocado mousse), write a few lines, or doodle whatever comes to mind. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about celebrating what makes you, you. Creativity is my superpower—what’s yours?
6. Move Your Body
I’m not big on rigid exercise, but I love moving in a way that feels free. Tomorrow, I’ll head out for a walk—maybe along a quiet path with my headphones on, soaking up the early March air. It’s my way of thanking my body for all it does no—no pressure, just presence.
Try it your way—stretch on your mat, sway to some music in your kitchen, or just breathe deep and shake off the week. Our bodies are incredible, and honouring that feels like a proper tribute to being a woman.
7. Reflect on Your Own Power
To wrap up, I’ll take a quiet moment to think about my own path. Being a vegan woman, carving out my space in the world—it’s not always easy, but it’s mine. I’ll ask myself: What am I proud of? Where am I headed? No need for big answers—just a chance to see the strength I’ve built along the way.
You’ve got that power, too. Tomorrow, pause and celebrate your story—the wins, the lessons, all of it. We’re each a force in our own right, lighting up the world one day at a time.
So, that’s my solo plan for International Women’s Day—a mix of reflection, creativity, and plant-based pampering. It’s about honouring myself and the women out there doing their thing, even if I’m cheering from afar. I’d love to hear how you’ll mark the day, whether it’s one of these ideas or something totally your own. Let’s make tomorrow a celebration of us—bold, unique, and unapologetically ourselves.
Here’s my question for you to drop in the comments: What’s one way you’ll celebrate being a woman—or the women who inspire you—on International Women’s Day? I can’t wait to read your thoughts!
Until next time, stay radiant and free-spirited.
