Homemade vegan beauty elixir: Avocado and green tea mask

Today, I'm excited to share with you a simple yet luxurious DIY beauty recipe that's vegan and incredibly nourishing for your skin. Introducing the avocado and green tea mask - perfect for those days when your skin needs a little extra TLC.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 green tea bag (or 1 tablespoon of green tea leaves)
  • 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (optional, for brightening)

Method:

  1. Brew the Green Tea: Start by brewing a cup of green tea. Let it cool down completely. If you're using tea leaves, strain them to get the liquid.
  2. Prepare the Avocado: Scoop out the avocado into a bowl and mash it until it turns into a smooth paste. The creaminess of avocado is excellent for hydration and giving your skin that glow.
  3. Mix the Ingredients: Add one tablespoon of cooled green tea to the mashed avocado. Stir in the aloe vera gel for its soothing and healing properties. If you want to add a brightening effect, mix in the lemon juice as well.
  4. Blend to Perfection: Blend everything together until you have a smooth, consistent mask. If the mixture seems too thick, you can add a bit more green tea to adjust the consistency.
  5. Application: Apply this mask to your clean face, avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for about 15-20 minutes. This is the perfect time to relax with soothing music or a good book.
  6. Rinse Off: Gently wash off the mask with lukewarm water. Pat your face dry with a soft towel. Your skin will feel incredibly smooth, hydrated, and revitalised.
