Hello everyone!
Today I want to share another easy way to use essential oils – adding essential oils to your shampoo! Making your hair healthy and stronger couldn’t get any easier. It doesn’t really matter
what shampoo you use, you too can experience the benefits of adding essential oils to your hair routine!
Essential oils are packed
with amazing antioxidants and other compounds that are healing, restorative and
stimulating. Nevertheless; trying to incorporate essential oils into your
life, can be overwhelming. Many of you just don’t have the time, am I right? Well, with this simple
technique, you can enjoy the benefits of essential oils for your hair, without a hassle!
Here are some of the ways
essential oils can help your hair:
- Stimulate growth
- Strengthen follicles
- Eliminate dandruff
- Prevent premature greying
- Fight scalp acne
- Oil control
- Moisturise dry hair
- Reduce hair fall
- Repair damage
- Kill lice
- Fight fungal infections
How to add essential oils to your shampoo:
Adding essential oils
to your shampoo is easy. You can simply open your shampoo bottle and add
some drops of your essential oil of choice. Or, you can also do what I do! Personally, I like to use a narrow tip applicator bottle. The narrow tip gives me greater control of the amount and placement of my shampoo. You should only apply shampoo to the scalp and not the lengths of the hair! (This goes for any shampoo, not just the one you add essential oils to.) I also dilute my shampoo with water; doing this makes thicker shampoos easy to spread and lather.
The two essential oils I add to my shampoo every washday are tea tree and lavender!
How much essential oil should you add:
For every 10 ml of shampoo, add 10 drops of essential oil.
If you have sensitive
skin, reduce the amount of essential oil by half.
Here’s a list of the best essential oils for different hair
problems:
- For hair growth: Peppermint, Cedarwood, Lavender, Thyme,
Rosemary, Tea tree
- For dandruff: Tea tree, Lavender, Lemon, Neroli, Chamomile
