Hello everyone!
It's the end of the year, and you know what
that means – it's time to look back at the year that
was 2016.  In today's post I want to talk about my 2016.  For me, this was a year characterised by change...  Â
Twenty-sixteen was
the year in which I became a vegan.  I've been
on a "mostly vegan" diet all my life. Â I've never liked meat,
eggs or dairy, but I did occasionally eat chicken breast and egg fried rice.
Also, if you read my blog you know that I did use honey in my DIY beauty recipes.
Now I do not eat or use any animal
products. Â The reason why I am even mentioning my diet (and lifestyle) on
this blog is because my skin has changed significantly since
I altered my eating habits. Â
My acne went away completely, which is something I was hoping for.  But not only that, my acne scaring is also fading away, which took me complete by surprise.  I was not expecting this at all and I'm not sure how or why it happened but I'm not complaining, in fact I couldn't be happier! Â
This is also why I haven't blogged much this year; I did not try out different beauty recipes like I used to, because my skin has not looked this good since childhood. Â For the same reason, I haven't been wearing much make-up either. Â And since I'm on the subject of not wearing make-up, for some reason this year I stopped wearing nail polish altogether, I don't know when exactly, I sort of grew out of the habit. Â Now I keep my fingernails quite short and "naked". Â Â Â
This was also the year I changed my hair, again. Back in summer 2016 I cut my hair to collarbone length (as I mentioned in my end of summer favourites) and I loved it so much that I keep trimming it regularly to keep the same length.  I'm obsessed with my lob because it's the easiest haircut I've ever had (and I've had a wide variety of cuts; from pixie to knee length).  It's easier to cleanse, easier to dry, easier to style and easier to manage!  Oh, and it's also easier to dye at home. I've also been dying it a few shaded lighter than I used too. My new colour (6.1) is closer to my natural hair colour.   Â
I could say much more about this past year, but this post is getting a bit too long and I don't want to bore you, so I'm going to end it here.
Life
has its ups and downs, but I'll try my best to make 2017 an amazing year.Â
