October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an
annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. Unfortunately a great amount of beauty products still contain cancer-causing ingredients.
Even the lowest levels of carcinogenic chemicals, can be very harmful when found in products used every day like; make-up, skincare and hair products.
"The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics found
cancer-causing chemicals in a number of cosmetics made by Procter & Gamble
(P&G), including their Cover Girl blushes, mascara and eye shadows, Olay
anti-aging creams, Max Factor mascara, and more.
Even the lowest levels of carcinogenic chemicals, can be very harmful when found in products used every day like; make-up, skincare and hair products.
I just signed an
online petition asking Mr A.G Lafley, the Chairman of the
Board, President, and CEO of P&G, to remove cancer-causing
chemicals from cosmetics. Keep reading to find out more about this campaign!
Even P&G’s
Pantene Beautiful Lengths Finishing Crème – which is marketed with a pink
ribbon for breast cancer awareness – contains a chemical linked to cancer!
Carcinogens have no
place in anyone’s beauty routine. Even low levels of cancer chemicals add
up to real harm when they are found in products used every day, from shampoos
and other hair products, creams, blushes, and nail polish.
P&G can and
already does make personal care products without toxic chemicals linked to
cancer. P&G can become a leader and a true champion for women’s
health by making cosmetics without cancer the new industry standard."
Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is a broad-based coalition, housed at the Breast Cancer Fund, working
to clean up the beauty aisle through public advocacy and market campaigns
designed to eliminate dangerous chemicals linked to cancer,
reproductive harm
and other adverse health impacts from cosmetics and personal care products.
Please, take a minute of your time to tell
P&G to remove cancer-causing chemicals from cosmetics! Take
action!
