None of us is perfect, especially when it comes to make-up. Today’s post is about make-up mistakes or "crimes" as I like to call them. Thank God there is no make-up jail!
Here’s a list of make-up crimes and how you can avoid them…
Dark lip liner and light lipstick
Unless
you are going to an 80’s themed party, you need to choose your lip liner in a
shade close to your natural lip colour or the same colour as your lipstick/gloss.
Lip liner extending beyond
the lip line
What have you learned in
kindergarten? – Do not colour outside the lines! Same thing applies to lip
make-up. Just line the border, not
beyond. If you want fuller
lips apply a lip-plumping product and finish
with a dab of clear or light gloss on the centre of your lower lip (this will
reflect the light and make your lips appear fuller).
Drawn-in eyebrows
Women with lush, full brows
should skip any added colour; all they need are tweezers for stray hairs
and some brow gel/clear mascara.
To plump up sparse brows, apply
brow powder with an angled brush.
Caked-on foundation
This will only draw more attention to the problem you’re trying to hide. Instead, try this:
For fine lines: Mix in a little moisturiser with your foundation. Click here to find out more.

For blemishes: Apply your foundation lightly and evenly, and then
use a full coverage concealer on the blemishes.
Visible foundation line
To avoid this mistake, choose
the right shade for your skin tone. Your
foundation should match your skin tone.
Obvious blush line
Use a blush brush, not the small applicator that comes with some products, and blend, blend, blend.
If you apply too much, tone down the colour with a light dusting of translucent powder.
What make-up
crimes have you committed? I
promise I won’t judge! J
