Are you looking for a safe way to lighten your hair? Yes, there are safe, an all natural ways to lighten your hair! Girls with blonde hair can use naturally ingredients such as; lemon juice and chamomile to lighten their hair. Unfortunately those methods do not work on darker hair. Still, there is another natural method to lighten dark hair. Cinnamon can lighten dark hair at least two shades and it also strengthens it!
You will need:
• hair conditioner
• ground cinnamon
• plastic processing cap/plastic bag
• honey (has additional bleaching and moisturising properties)
Method:
Step 1: Prepare the mixture
Add the conditioner, cinnamon, and honey (if desired) together in a plastic container. The amounts needed are determined by the length and thickness of your hair. Mix with a plastic spoon as metal can react with the mixture.
Step 2: Shampoo/Co-wash and condition hair
Step 3: Apply the mixture
Apply the mixture evenly to damp hair. I recommend applying the mixture using disposable gloves. Place the plastic processing cap/plastic bag over your hair.
NOTE: Cinnamon is a known skin irritant so it may tingle for a few minutes but it will go away. If the tingling persists or becomes unbearable, rinse it out immediately.
Step 4: Wait
The mixture should stay in your hair for at least 4 hours. The longer the processing time, the more results you will see. Therefore leaving it on overnight is the best option.
Step 5: Rinsing the mixture out and reveal your new shade
Make sure you rinse the mixture out completely. This method will give you a lighter, reddish colour. The more applications you do, the more change you will see.
The mixture will leave your hair moisturised, soft, and smelling delicious!
